On the occasion of St.Valentine's Day - a new series of  funny animals in love! (I'm afraid there's not much light, for it's raining today, sorry...)

Помните ли първите влюбени животни, които измайсторихме заедно с моята непрежалима ножица?Трябва да ги извадя от кутията и да им вдъхна нов живот...
These are the first animals in love my favourite (and lost!) scissors "discovered" in the empty sheets of paper! Do you remember them? I should take them out of  the box...

Искам да ви разкажа една история. За най-голямото езеро в Африка...
Let me tell you a story. About a lake. The biggest one in Africa...

ЕЗЕРОТО С КРАСИВО ИМЕ - THE LAKE WITH THE BEAUTIFUL NAME

За първи път видях езерото Виктория през 2011 г., малко преди самолетът от Найроби да се приземи в Кисуму - огромна водна площ, която сякаш нямаше край.

По-късно, в една свободна от занятия неделна утрин, се разходихме с лодка из него. Раздадоха ни спасителни оранжеви жилетки и потеглихме. Извадихме голям късмет, че точно тогава нямаше слънце и времето беше хладно.

I saw lake Victoria for the first time in 2011, while flying from Nairobi to Kisumu. Shortly before landing, there it appeared - a huge area of water, that seemed endless to me! Later on, one early Sunday morning, while everybody was at church, we had a boat trip on the lake, starting from a place, named Hippo Point. We  were lucky that there was no sun, which was "an exception to the rule"...  The weather was chilly and foggy, the water - muddy.

Първото, което чухме и видяхме беше множество жълти птички, които сякаш се караха за нещо...

First we heard and saw lots of yellow birds, arguing about something in the branches of small trees...

След това минахме покрай много други птици и хора, заети с всекидневните си задължения...

Then we passed slowly by birds and people, occupied with their everyday duties...

 

 

 

 

Едни бяха отишли на рибния пазар...

Some had chosen to go to the fish market...

Други - на разходка...

Others - to sail with friends...

Трети - на риболов....

Or go fishing...

Бяхме потънали в мълчание. Чуваше се само щракането на фотоапаратите и видеокамерите. Толкова различен и интересен бе светът около нас! И въпреки че не бях първият  "мазунго" ("бял човек") на туристическа лодка,  имах усещането, че се  натрапвамe на тези хора. Но те бяха свикнали... Повечето въобще не ни забелязваха. Само децата (като всички деца!) ни махаха и се усмихваха.

We were in awe and all silent, but that made me feel like an intruder. I knew I was not the first "mazungo" (i.e. a "white person") to pass by, watching and exclaiming, but I felt somehow uncomfortably with my camera!  On the other hand, I'm not sure someone got impressed by our appearance there, most people even didn't notice us. Only the children (as kids everywhere!) waved and smiled.

Така че сега съм щастлива, че направих тези снимки, които отново и отново ме връщат към езерото Виктория. Полюбувайте му се и вие!

So I'm happy now to have all these photos that keep my memories fresh. Let me share some of them with you!

 

 

Нашият сладкодумен гид примамваше със своеобразни звуци и шум хипопотамите, които живеят в езерото. И ето, че те се показаха!!

We had a guide to give us some info and to entice(?) the hippos, living in the lake, by making special sounds and noises. And here they were - so big and somehow sleepy!!

 

 

 

 

Разходката свърши, а аз като че ли не можех да осъзная, че съм била там!

The trip was over, but as if I couldn't realize that it had really happened to me!:)

Открихме едно приятно заведение с изглед към езерото, където можехме да пием кафе, сок Пашън или известната бира "Tusker"... :D

We found a beautiful place with a view to the lake for drinking coffee, Passion juice or beer "Tusker"... :D

 

 

Но когато при повторното си пребиваване в Кисуму в края на миналата година нетърпеливи отидохме там, останахме изумени: ЕЗЕРОТО ГО НЯМАШЕ!

But when we visited it again last December, to our great amazement we discovered that... THE LAKE WAS NOT THERE!
What do I mean?!... I'l tell you in my next post.:)

TO HELP A FRIEND

Hello, everyone!
Blogging has turned into an important part of our lives. We all have different motifs and  necessities to keep doing it... During that journey we make discoveries - about the world, about the others, about ourselves. When we share, we trust each other and it's so thrilling to feel a support and understanding from someone, you have never seen, but the mutual contact with whom brings you joy and makes you feel good!
I am sure you'll agree with me that one of the most beautiful sides of blogging is finding new friends. I haven't  expected that, but today I am happy to say  that I met several special persons, who became very dear to my heart! One of them is Gretel Parker.

Perhaps some of you know her and others - don't. She's a wonderful, sincere, warm-hearted  person, a talented illustrator and a needle felt master. I love her very much! She was the first one to follow my blog and thus encouraged me -  more than 3 years ago. I have one of her beautiful books, sent together with lots of sweet gifts.
Unfortuntely, right now,  Gretel is passing through a very sad and hard period of her life....
Something that could happen to everyone of us and those who have had such an experience know how much it hurts and how many sweet cares one needs to recover...
Gretel has a lot of friends who, as you see, try to ease her pain. (Thank you, Jessie and Charlotte!)
I dare to hope that some of you can help her, too!...

АФРИКАНСКИ ДНЕВНИК-ЧАСТ VII / MY AFRICAN JOURNAL-PART VII

 ФЕСТИВАЛЪТ - THE FESTIVAL

С тези кукли, специално изработени в България за тренинга ми по куклен театър, открихме фестивала. (Аз играя с лъва.)
These hand puppets, that were made in Bulgaria for my training session in puppetry, opened the Festival. (I'm manipulating the Lion!)

Това приказно дърво беше естественият ни декор, а пространството около него - сцената. Пред очите на зрителите като фон - езерото Виктория, за което ще пиша в следващ пост.

This magical tree was our scenery, the space around it - the stage and as a background - the lake Victoria ( I will write a special post about it).

 

Прекарахме цялата сутрин на открито в репетиции, игри, рисуване, техническа подготовка на събитието, хапване на сандвичи, смях и снимки за спомен, докато дойде времето за обличане на костюмите.

 

 

 

 

We spent the whole morning in the open air - rehearsing, drawing, playing warming-up games, installing the music, еating  sandwiches, laughing and taking pics, until it was time to put on the costumes! 

И така Вторият театрален фестивал за деца в Кисуму започна! Шест малки спектакъла очароваха публиката в горещия следобед. Шест красиви и емоционални истории, представящи африкански приказки, обичаи и митове, над които 200 деца работиха в продължение на три седмици, ръководени от 28 млади артисти и художници от Кисуму в процес, наблюдаван от нас - вж. http://rossichka.blogspot.com/2012/11/v-my-african-journal-part-iv.html

So the Second Kisumu Children Theatre Festival began! Six mini-shows in the hot afternoon, that the public admired! Six beautiful and exciting stories upon African myths, customs and fairytales - the result of the hard three-week work of 200 children and 28 young Kisumu artists, a process our European team was responsible for - see http://rossichka.blogspot.com/2012/11/v-my-african-journal-part-iv.html
