1 / A TRIP IN SPRING part 1

Sometimes certain circumstances and events happen in such a way and sequence that help our dreams come true. That's how I went for the first time to England! I hoped one day I might have the chance to go and see... And so... I went and saw! Ten days, full of joy, excitement, shared moments with old and new friends, love, beauty and sunny weather! We went to visit our son, who's studying there - oh, we were so happy to be with him! But I want to tell you about many other things. I don't know how to rearrange my impressions... I don't know which photos to choose... I wonder how to express myself better... But I have to start. So I decided to tell you first about....

MEETING BLOG-FRIENDS

This is Hannah. I am sure some of you know her and admire the beautiful lamps that she makes! I was lucky to visit her lovely shop and felt privileged to enter her studio - a home for her creative energy and imagination!

We had a long chat and laughed a lot - like old friends...

The day for visiting Hebden Bridge was sunny and warm! This little town wears a specific atmosphere of cosiness, beauty and calm. We liked everything we saw!

This playing and singing marionnettiste as if performed specially for us!:)

Under the bridge everyone was enjoying life to the full!

Later Hannah wrote a post about the time spent together. Thank you so much, Hannah! Meeting you was a real pleasure, I am happy to know you - such a kind and warm-hearted young woman!

The next day I met with Sue. I expected that with impatience. Her blog was one of the first I began to follow 4 or 5 years ago.

When she came to pick us up and I saw her smiling, I had the feeling that I knew her for a long time! We drove to the Yorkshire Sculpture park - such an amazing place!

This is a vast space in nature and the spring colours contrasted beautifully to the sculptures...

Joan Miro...

Niki de Saint Phalle...

And... Henry Moore!

I fell in love with Moore's sculptures. I understood what he meant by saying that a "reclining" figure has more freedom in exposure than the standing or the sitting one. It was forbidden to take photos inside, but you can see some of his works here!

Find more about the sculptors from the outside exhibition here!

We will always connect our visit to YSP with the smiling, kind and generous Sue! Thank you!

Although very tired by travelling and walking, I was feeling happy and grateful every moment of this adventure! You see why, don't you?...

See you next time!:)

  1. Wow, that must have been great! A beautiful country in spring, art, blogfriends! Wow, what an experience! It is very special to see someone in reality that you know from the internet. Because you have an image of that person and it is very exciting when everything fits. Like you say: as if you have known that person for a long long time. Also, to be in someone's home is great way to experience another country. The big sculptures are very impressive. And you look beautiful!!!

    1. Hello, Hannah! The photo on the bridge is my favourite! It keeps the memory of being there alive.:) After coming back home, I read more about the Yorkshire Sculpture park and Haworth! I know we saw just a part of them, but it is something that I cherish and am thankful for to God, to the destiny... The shop? Oh, we brought some tiny gifts from it.:D Bye!!xox

  8. Rossichka, my dear friend !! What a beautiful experience. Really to know a person who you "already know" somehow, is exciting. Before seeing that person you think about what to say. or you fear that something will go wrong and lots of fears. But when you look personally, everything is ok. Also, I think that there is something that unites us, similar tastes and opinions. Etc. Are years, knowing each other through this strange system (internet). Sometimes I think it is simply a new version of the old handwritten letters.
And if the person is from another country, other customs. the experience is even greater.
I've seen your husband in a "histrionic" position, I guess (I'm sure) he is a funy person. very nice!
A few words apart, to imagine that the meeting with your son has been very emotional. You and your husband are sensitive people (like all people who lov art) and the distance between parents and children is not easy to carry. (Obviously so for all parents, but when you are "emotionally vulnerable" I think it's more difficult.
Well. I congratulate you on your journey, meeting with friends of your blog, by the encounter with your beloved son. and for sharing with us! And i agree with Hedwig: you look beautiful!!! (you know, i am bald and to see a person with such imponent hair gives me a bit of envy! JA JA!! No, this was a joke, You really look beautiful.
    have a nice week!

    1. Hello, Roberto! Thanks for you emotional comment! Yes, you are right - we have something in common, that's why we follow each other's blogs and when it happens to meet "in person" - the feeling is as if we've met an old friend! That's how, through blogging, we have met with my husband two new friends in Bulgaria!
I will post again soon - the next story about our stay in England. You know better than me what it is like to have a child, living abroad...
Thanks for the compliment about my hair.:) Hmmm, I am afraid now to think of cutting it even a little bit...:D
